An Upstate native and graduate of Clemson University, BJ worked in advertising, marketing, audio/visual production, and staging for more than 21 years as vice-president of Spectrum South, Inc. In 1997, she left the corporate world to become a full-time voiceover artist, voicing commercials for local, regional and national accounts in addition to narrations for film and video.
BJ is a founder of The Warehouse Theatre, serving on that board as president in the theatre's inaugural season in its new home on Augusta Street. She currently serves on the board of Greenville's Metropolitan Arts Council and as Chair of the Cultural Coalition. She is a member of Actors' Equity Association .
Since September 2004, BJ has held the position of executive director of Centre Stage South Carolina. Actively involved with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, she is a graduate of Leadership Greenville (Class 25), and currently serves on the Board of Regents of the Leadership Greenville Alumni Association. Her community involvement includes membership in the Greenville Professional Women's Forum, the Thursday Club, Emrys Foundation, Greenville Woman's Club and Fourth Presbyterian Church. She is proud to have been recognized by the YWCA as a 2006 recipient of the Amy Kay Stubbs Women of Achievement Award.
