David Crosby has been shooting production photography for Centre Stage for many years and his expert contribution to our archival history is inestimable. We are fortunate, indeed, to have a world-class professional photographer as part of our family, especially one so generous with his time and talents. Recently, we've enlisted his help as a studio photographer and we think the results, some of which are featured below, speak for themselves. Please visit David's studio site to see more examples of his work. And if you're in the Greenville area (or just passing through!), be sure to visit his cafe, Snapshot .
The Fantasticks
David shot our two romantic leads, Anna Beth Bonney and Brady Smith, separately in order to light them more effectively. They were combined later and set against a starry sky. The challenge in studio was to get their eyes pointed in precisely the right direction so that when the two images were combined, they'd look like they gazing at each other and not staring vacantly into space.

Fun! - 25th Anniversary Season
Our Furman University intern, Anna Beth Bonney, posed for this photo holding some flowers bought at a local Fresh Market. David photographed her against a black background washed with a dark blue gel. Details of the Centre Stage logo were added to the background later with Photoshop.
Variations of this 25th Anniversary Season promotion design have appeared on cards, in local newspaper and magazine ads and as part of a large lobby display used to invite patrons to join our growing roster of season members.

Guided Tour
This is actually two of David's studio photos combined in layout. Our production of Peter Snoad's Guided Tour starred Clark Nesbitt and Victoria Chance (both pictured). Victoria supplied the mask from her personal collection.
The idea of placing Victoria in the background originated with our business manager, Connie Jenkins ... and it made all the difference. The 4' x 8' banner version of this layout that hung on the side of our building during the run of the show now hangs over our office copier.
