The Fantasticks - (October 11-27, 2007) Try to Remember, Soon It's Gonna Rain, They Were You ...Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's wise and wonderful classic is the longest-running show in New York theater history - 43 years - and last produced at Centre Stage during our 1986-1987 season. Rediscover the delicious optimism of youth, the clarion call of romance and the "mystery of the reaping of the grain" in this timeless tale of love.

It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play - (November 29 - December 16, 2007) Turn back the clock to the 1940s and set the dial for a double dose of holiday nostalgia. Joe Landry's fast-paced spin on the Frank Capra holiday classic hearkens back to the golden age of radio when families gathered together for inspirational broadcasts and wholesome entertainment. Savvy studio actors employ their voices and live radio sound effects to recreate the much-loved celebration of simple goodwill, community, and cheer in the face of hardship. Perfect for the whole family!

Sylvia - (January 10-26, 2008) A.R. Gurney's romantic comedy about a marriage and a dog. "... one of the most involving, beautiful, funny, touching and profound plays I have ever seen," said the NY Daily News. "Gurney's mad comedy is the most endearing good time to trot down the pike in many a moon. Howlingly funny," agreed Backstage. A street-smart mixture of Lab and Poodle, Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife.

Wait Until Dark- (February 28 - March 15, 2008) Last produced by Centre Stage during our 1984-1985 season, Frederick Knott's suspense thriller introduces us to Susy Henderson, a woman recently blinded and still struggling to adapt. When her husband unknowingly leaves her alone with a child's doll containing contraband, she's preyed upon by a cunning psychopath named Roat, bent on recovering the contraband at any price. A psycho-drama with a chilling climax. You'll never look at your refrigerator quite the same way again.

Crimes of the Heart - (June 5-21, 2008) The first play to win the Pulitzer prize before its Broadway premiere, Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart is a "Southern Gothic" comedy, the story of three sisters swimming against a floodtide of personal tragedy in a small Mississippi town. With the wry humor for which she is now so famous, Henley later said of her success, "I'll never have to work in a dog-food factory again." Last performed at Centre Stage during our inaugural 1983-84 season.

Tomfoolery - (August 7-30, 2008) Just in time for the 2008 election season. Four actors, four stools, a piano and a healthy dose of attitude are all we'll need to entice you into the witty, wicked offbeat and thoroughly twisted world of famed satirical songwriter Tom Lehrer. In concerts, television appearances and now-classic recordings, Lehrer has delighted millions of fans with his cynical but good-humored attacks on everything from the military to the political to the social.
